NIRSA 'Nihilators finish season even

NNC softball team did not annihilate, but did have a lot of fun

In their first season, the NIRSA 'Nihilators co-ed softball team finished 5-5-1. The team was made up of NIRSA National Center staff and their friends and family. Staff players included Kent Blumenthal (who had to dust off his Roger Maris glove in order to play), Nick Todorovich, George Looney, Sadie Hartshorn, Mary Callender, Mariah Van Winkle, and team captain Heidi Cleary.

The team had a wide range of playing abilities, from home-run hitters like Todorovich, to women who had never played before. Cleary noted that “it was a great season, and many players are already looking forward to next year.” Blumenthal, for one, is stocking up on ice packs in anticipation of spring training in March 2008.
