Sports officials' education materials available from the NEPC

The latest softball, basketball, and flag football resources

The second edition of the NIRSA Slow Pitch Softball Rules Book was published in January 2008. Order your copies along with the updated clinician kit to make sure you have the most recent materials for training softball umpires this season.

2007-08 Basketball materials are currently available from the NIRSA Education & Publication Center (NEPC). The NFHS Basketball Rules Book, Case Book, Officials Manual, and the NIRSA Clinician Kits and Basketball Officials' Training DVD are all available from the NEPC.

Don't miss the Annual Conference educational session introducing the NIRSA Online Officiating Flag Football Course. The session will be Friday, April 4 at 9:45 a.m. The session will be conducted by Kurt Klier (University of Maryland), Brian Mills (Stephen F. Austin State University) and Nick Brigati (University of Central Florida).

The session will familiarize attendees with the new flag football online course developed for the NEPC by Human Kinetics in consultation with members of the NIRSA Flag Football Committee. You will learn how to adapt the course into existing flag football officials' training programs and how students will maneuver through the course. Five different units cover the Basics of Officiating, Game Essentials and Rules, Pre-game Procedures, Game Mechanics and Penalty Enforcement, and Officiating Mechanics for 2, 3, and 4-person crews.
