ACSM offers two unique learning opportunities at National Fitness Institute

Learn from the experts both during and after the Institute in Portland, Oregon

Hope Wood, Assistant Director of Certification for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), is speaking at the NIRSA National Fitness Institute about "Seeking Optimal Employability from Your New Hires: Achieving Exceptional Staff Productivity and Loyalty." Wood has extensive experience in the collegiate recreation field as the Assistant Director of Fitness/Wellness Programs for the University of Iowa Recreational Services as well as spending several years as a fitness director. She has a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Iowa State University and a master's degree in Health Promotion from the University of Iowa. Wood is a certified ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor® and a certified Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches® Corporation.

ACSM is also hosting a one-day continuing education course, Weight Management for the Fitness Professional, in Portland, Oregon following the Fitness Institute. The course will be held Saturday, October 27, 8 am-4 pm. The cost is $80 for NIRSA Members, and registration for the Fitness Institute is not required. Participants will learn how to effectively work with clients on weight-loss goals. Up-to-date nutrition and weight loss techniques give practitioners strategies that can be applied immediately to help clients achieve desired results. Register
