Spotlight: NIRSA 2007 National Recreation Facilities Institute, presented by Mondo

October 23-25 in Portland, Oregon

This annual educational event just gets better and better! The 2007 National Recreation Facilities Institute, presented by Mondo, takes place October 23-25 in Portland, Oregon. The program committee, chaired by Kristie Deschesne of the University of Maine, has selected a pertinent and timely selection of educational sessions, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. You'll also attend sessions on renovation, construction, facility management software, fitness equipment, and more.

Viewing facilities that you might not otherwise have a chance to see has become a popular and valuable aspect of the Institute. The host committee, chaired by Alex Accetta of Portland State University, has arranged for a great selection of tours that are sure to stimulate ideas for your own institution. You'll visit the Nike campus, a community center, two major Oregon universities, and a wellness center.

Huge thanks go to our sponsors: Mondo, Woodway, Star Trac, Matrix, Life Fitness, Yost Grube Hall Architecture, and TVA Architects Inc. Their support of the collegiate recreation field is greatly appreciated. Be sure to visit them and our other vendors at the Networking Social on Thursday, October 25.

Don't miss this opportunity to visit the Pacific Northwest! You'll find Portland to be a beautiful cosmopolitan city, with the warmth of a small town. More information about travel, hotel, tours, and registration is available on the NIRSA website.
