Region V Endowment established

Once funded, new endowment will cover a Region V student’s registration to the Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition

Members of Region V discussed and approved the establishment of a Region V Endowment to fund a NIRSA Foundation Scholarship at the NIRSA 2007 Annual Conference in Minneapolis. Once the endowment is fully funded and earns enough investment income to cover a student’s registration to the Annual Conference, one student from Region V will be selected each year to receive the scholarship after the general and named NIRSA student scholarships are awarded.

At the Region V meeting, each state was asked to discuss the concept and plan. All Region V states were in support, with Canada abstaining.

The Region V Endowment is on track to achieve the goal of being fully funded after the 2009 Annual Conference. Thanks to the following individuals, who are the first Region V Endowment donors:
