Ilana Kloss, Chief Executive Officer and Commissioner of World Team Tennis, was honored as the 2007 Women in Sports Business Symposium’s Woman of the Year at a May 24 luncheon in Portland, Oregon. NIRSA Executive Director Kent J. Blumenthal attended the luncheon on behalf of NIRSA.

Kloss was the world’s best doubles player in 1976, winning doubles titles at the US Open, Italian Open, US Clay Courts, German Open, British Hard Courts and Hilton Head. After playing for WTT franchises in the 1980s, Kloss took over as the WTT Vice President in 1987 and succeeded Billie Jean King as President in 1991. Named CEO/Commissioner in 2001, Kloss currently oversees the 11-team WTT Pro League and the nationwide grassroots Recreational League programs from her New York City office.
