Results of new selection process for 2009 Annual Conference Program Chair

Jennifer Speer (University of Texas at Austin) has been chosen as the 2009 Annual Conference Program Chair. The 2009 Annual Conference takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Ms. Terry Houck (University of North Carolina at Charlotte) has agreed to serve as Chair of the 2009 Annual Conference Host Committee.

Historically, the NIRSA Past President served as the Annual Conference Program Chair. In a recent motion approved by the NIRSA Board of Directors, the leadership of the Annual Conference Program Committee was shifted to a Professional Member chosen by a selection committee through an application process. The selection committee consists of the NIRSA Chief Operating Officer, the NIRSA Director of Education, and three members of the NIRSA Board of Directors. It was a competitive pool of applicants; thanks go to each applicant for their willingness to serve the Association.

The 2008 Annual Conference in Austin, Texas will be the last conference with the Past President serving as chair of the Program Committee. President McGonagle has appointed Dave DeAngelo (The Ohio State University) as her co-chair for the 2008 Annual Conference Program Committee.
