Record attendance for the National Recreation Facilities Institute

Over 170 attended the NRFI October 11-14

More than 170 attendees participated in the 2006 NIRSA National Recreation Facilities Institute held in Columbus, Ohio from October 11-14. Participants took advantage of 20 different educational sessions both management and construction/design from an outstanding array of professionals, including television personnel, a police officer, architects, fitness specialists, professors and more. Facility tours at The Ohio State University, Wright State University, the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati were a huge hit with attendees and often cited as the Institute feature they enjoyed the most. Archie Griffin, widely known as the only two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy, was the keynote speaker.

“The NRFI is a great hands-on learning experience. You get the opportunity to learn about many other university campus recreation departments and their student recreation centers. Many institutions from all over the nation were present and very willing to share information regarding their building process.
