AORE Conference 2006 update

Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education Annual Conference: Exploring the Next Dimension, November 2-4, 2006 at Boise State University

NIRSA and the Association of Outdoor Recreation & Education (AORE) share a common goal: to expand opportunities for students and professionals within the field of outdoor recreation and education. Through a joint partnership, the memberships of both AORE and NIRSA can benefit from increased educational and networking opportunities. One of these benefits allows for NIRSA Members to attend the AORE annual conference at AORE member rates.

Boise State University Campus Recreation will be hosting the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education’s annual international conference November 2-4, 2006. The AORE conference will bring 500 professional educators to Boise State University for a week of high-end instructional clinics, seminars and workshops. The conference will host 17 pre/post conference workshops and an additional 85 core-conference presentations.

AORE’s annual conference on outdoor recreation and education is one of the outdoor industry’s most effective and favorite networking events for professionals, students and industry leaders. The conference serves and supports individuals and programs that offer human-powered backcountry leadership/learning adventures. Programs attending the conference offer outdoor activities such as backpacking, mountaineering, climbing, and whitewater/flatwater canoeing, rafting and kayaking to promote personal development, stewardship and lifelong learning.

AORE 2006 will also host the largest Vendor Exhibition Hall in the 20-year conference history.

The Exhibition Hall will host booths and hands-on demonstrations from service providers and manufacturers/distributors of outdoor equipment. The on-site vendors will be a focal point for the duration of the conference because all key conference events, meals, and association meetings will happen in the vendor areas. The Exhibition Hall is an invaluable resource as it acts as a direct buying conduit, for association members to the innovators and leaders of the outdoor industry.

Conference information and registration materials can be obtained at rec.boisestate.edu/aore or by calling the AORE National Office at 208-426-5604.
