2006 NIRSA Foundation professional scholarship winners

Congratulations to these outstanding professionals!

The NIRSA Foundation Board of Directors and this year’s Chair, Suzette Smith, are pleased to announce the recipients of two Will Holsberry Endowment Professional Scholarships and of the newly endowed Anthony (Tony) J. Chivetta Professional Scholarship. 

Holsberry Scholarship
(covers registration to the National School of Recreational Sports Management):

• Cara W. McFadden, Central Michigan University
• Kevin George, CRSS, Rowan University

Anthony (Tony) J. Chivetta Scholarship
(covers registration to the National Recreation Facilities Institute):

• Stephen V. Rey, CRSS, Western Kentucky University

To be eligible for the Will Holsberry or the Anthony (Tony) J. Chivetta Endowment scholarships, applicants must be current NIRSA Professional Members with at least five years of membership and submit an essay describing:

• Service and loyalty to the Association
• Interest in being a leader within the Association
• Financial need

The NIRSA Foundation is dedicated to providing funding for scholarships, research, student and professional development, educational resources, program planning and other similar interests in recreational sports.
