BACCHUS session explores alcohol and drug abuse prevention strategies

Campus recreation professionals can be a big part of the solution

Dr. Ann Quinn-Zobeck from the BACCHUS (Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students) Network will be presenting at the NIRSA Conference on Thursday, April 6. Preventing alcohol abuse and drug use on campus is everyone’s responsibility. By understanding what the issues are, what effective prevention strategies are, and how to develop programming partnerships, recreation professionals can contribute greatly to the solution. The BACCHUS presentation will explore current campus alcohol and drug issues as well as successful prevention strategies. Come and discuss opportunities for, and barriers to, addressing substance abuse issues through recreation.
