The Bring Your Boss program provides a unique and valuable opportunity to higher education administrators outside of the recreation field.

By attending the 2006 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition in Louisville, your boss will gain insight into the contributions you make as a recreation professional in the areas of recruitment, retention and overall student satisfaction—and all at the same Conference rate that Members pay! So, come on and Bring Your Boss, because this conference is definitely not limited to the concerns of just one department on your campus.

Many speakers, presentations and educational sessions will offer special appeal to your boss. The Opening General Session speaker, Dr. Janet Lapp, will guide attendees through the steps of staying focused, positive and productive, no matter the challenges, in her keynote address titled “A Positive Spin.”

Your boss certainly won't want to miss the senior management panel, where heads of student affairs departments and other leaders from all over the country discuss the value, benefit, and role of recreational sports in higher education.

The roster of invited professional speakers and their diverse array of topics includes:

  • Patti Holmes, who specializes in personal motivation, leadership, strategic planning, communication, teamwork, and change.
  • Carol Price, an accomplished organizer with demonstrated ability in training, supervising and motivating people.
  • Dr. Dennis Kimbro, president, P. Kimbro Group, who will motivate attendees with “Welcome to Leadership: Skills for the 21st Century.”

Rounding out the program is a multitude of educational sessions that will address issues of vital importance to all professionals in higher learning. Download a complete list of daily sessions at the NIRSA website.

As you browse through the 2006 Conference Program (which will be distributed at registration in Louisville), a BYB icon will direct your attention to items of special interest to your boss. And keep in mind that we’ve lined up lots of fun options in Louisville as well! A fantastic day of golf at the Quail Chase Golf Club is scheduled at the NIRSA Foundation Golf Tournament, and Theme Night entertainment will be led by nationally renowned hypnotist Tom DeLuca.

2006 is a great year to Bring Your Boss—and your boss will thank you for it! Look for BYB on the registration form for information about special pricing.
