Executive Committee holds winter meeting at Oakland University

NIRSA's Executive Committee and Executive Director met at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, December 5-7, to discuss a number of important programs and issues in advance of the upcoming 2006 NIRSA Annual Conference & Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. President Greg Jordan, President-elect Maureen McGonagle, Past President Tamra Garstka ,and Executive Director Kent J. Blumenthal made significant progress on NIRSA's Strategic Map by crafting a fourth "strategic domain" (Membership) for consideration by the NIRSA Board of Directors.

Other highlights included: two teleconferences with the NIRSA Board of Directors and with NIRSA Foundation Chair Suzi Smith and NIRSA Services Corporation President Mick Deluca; exploration of opportunities to expand involvement with the Council of Higher Education Management Associations (CHEMA); and potential improvements to NIRSA committee, work team and board operations. The group also dined with Oakland University's President of Student Affairs, Dr. Mary Beth Snyder, and Dean of Students, Glenn McIntosh.
